Vandal and I entered the Colonial Rottweiler Club tracking test this spring on 4/30/26 held at Finn Park. We were attempting our first try at TDX with high hopes that he would at least get past a real set of crosstracks.  We were lucky enough to draw track #1. As we headed down the first leg, we were relaxed and  ready to go.  The huge field ahead gave us 3 turns, an article, and 2 sets of cross tracks. Found the start article!  Then he took a moment to get over the 1st cross track, found the 2nd article much easier before heading through a hedge row and over a small stream.  This brought us into another field and we forged uphill.  This leg gave Vandal a bit of trouble as we tracked through a deer bed down area.  After working through that, we continued to find another article and headed out over a road into the woods. There was one more turn in the woods which took us out into another field.  50 yards later…. we found the last article!!!!!
Vandal passed his TDX which made him a CHAMPION TRACKER !!!!
I’m so proud of my young man, achieving this elite title after just turning 2 years old.  He’s truly a “tracking machine”!
