Local Judges Who Can Certify
When you think your dog is ready to enter a TD or TDU test, you need have your dog certified by a licensed AKC judge or evaluator to determine if your dog is ready to enter. Lenape Member, Gina DeAlmedia, is a licensed judge. E-mail her at Gina.dealmeida@gmail.com to set up an appointment. Other judges in neighboring states are listed below. The AKC keeps a list of licensed judges which may be accessed at:AKC Judges Search and Directory (AKC Website)
Additionally, a person who has handled a dog to a TDX or VST title within the last ten years is now eligible to certify. You will get four copies of the certification statement, and they are good for 24 months. Once the four certifications are used, you must recertify if you have not passed a TD or TDU test. There is an excellent article on certification procedures and protocol written by AKC judge Stephanie Crawford titled Certification- who, what, where, when, why?
